Expert Opinion: Cisco Industrial Network Director

January 9, 2018

Recently I had the chance to catch up with Scot Wlodarczak, market manager for industry marketing at Cisco, at Cisco Connect Toronto to talk about how our solutions are helping manufacturers overcome their business challenges.

In my first conversation with Scot, he addressed how our collaboration solutions are helping manufacturers improve factory effectiveness, reduce downtime, and speed up troubleshooting.

Another challenge that many factory operators and leaders face is network management. While not a new concept to IT leaders, the introduction of industrial networks to factory environments has meant that operations staff need to be aware of their network topology and how to troubleshoot when issues arise.

This can be overwhelming and confusing, so we set out to simplify it. Cue Cisco Industrial Network Director (IND), a network management tool designed for operations – not IT.

In this video, Scot explains how IND helps operations and factory leaders better understand their industrial network, as well as the key network deployment tool that every manufacturer will want.
