Behind the TO2015 Games: Cisco TelePresence Powers Virtual Help Desk

July 21, 2015

This post is third in a series taking readers behind-the-scenes of how Cisco technology is powering the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.

For our next look behind the Games (see parts 1 and 2 in this series here and here) I wanted to highlight how we are using Cisco TelePresence video conferencing technology to provide fans with seamless, face-to-face, high-definition video interaction with a Games Expert.

If you aren’t familiar with the technology, Cisco TelePresence is a high-definition video solution that is available in a variety of form factors – everything from an immersive room experience to personal video screens.

During the Games, certain venues will have TelePresence systems available for spectators to use if they need guidance on items related to the Games. For example, imagine you are in the Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Velodrome and have a question about what other events are happening nearby. Through our Virtual Help Desks, you can talk live, via video, with a Games representative and receive an instant response to your question, including queries on schedules, ticket availability and venue information.

These Virtual Help Desks are located in several Games venues, including the  Mississauga Sports Centre, Atos Markham Pan Am/Parapan Am Centre, CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House, CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium (2 units), Ryerson Athletic Centre and Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome.

If you’re attending the Games this summer, snap a photo of our Virtual Help Desks and share your experience with us on Twitter using #CiscoTO2015.
