Cisco and Rogers Cup Partner to Serve Fans a Winner!

October 3, 2011

Back on August 4th,  Cisco Canada’s Jeff Seifert blogged about our upcoming plans to enable spectators, journalists and players to be in two places at once at the Rogers Cup with the use of our TelePresence technology.

With the entire sports world watching, Cisco Canada & The Rogers Cup  delivered a smashing success by virtually eliminating the geographic hurdles between the men’s & women’s tournaments held simultaneously 500 kilometers apart.  The day after the event the Globe and Mail’s front page sports story declared  “Djokovic positively delighted in the interactive part – following his Montreal interviews by doing questions and answers with reporters in Toronto.”   Young tennis fans in both cities were actually able to look into their tennis hero’s eyes a province away and have an unforgettable face to face fan interaction.   We were thrilled to help enable these  memories that will last a lifetime.

If you weren’t able to make it out to the event– the short video below helps capture some of the fun everyone had using this game changing technology. Since the event, we’ve had other world class sporting events & businesses come forward looking for similar help with enabling distributed people to communicate as though they were in the same room.  Collaboration anyone?
