L’intégration du filtrage Web en mode SaaS et de l’ISR G2 : Le point de vue d’IDC
Le 11 Mai, Cisco a annoncé officiellement la possibilité d’utiliser un routeur ISR G2 en combinaison avec l’offre de filtrage web en mode SaaS Cisco ScanSafe : Cette fonction (qui sera disponible au début de l’été), va nous permettre d’utiliser la base de routeurs ISR largement déployés chez nos clients pour rediriger le flux web ‘in the cloud’ pour filtrage (ainsi, il n’y a rien à déployer en plus chez le client, on utilise le routeur existant).
IDC livre son analyse de cette fonctionnalité, et je ne résiste pas à vous en livrer quelques extraits :
- The move is also a further indication that content security —– such as Web, messaging and DLP — — are becoming more integrated with underlying network security, and network infrastructure in general.
- Integration of advanced security features into network infrastructure is a long-time practice at Cisco. One of the drivers behind the initial launch of the ISR seven years ago was the ability to provide hardware support for the advanced security features in Cisco IOS, such as firewall, VPN, and later IPS/IDS capabilities. Part of the goal was to allow customers to consolidate security devices in branch offices into the router. The ISR/ScanSafe solution could allow Cisco customers to do this for Web security.
- Cisco’s solution will challenge Web security competitors offering stand-alone Web security hardware products, as well as hybrid cloud/hardware solutions.
En résumé, l’arrivée de cette fonction de “connecteur” dans les routeurs est perçue de manière extrêmement positive par les analystes, ne reste plus qu’à transformer cette vision en réalité dans les réseaux de nos clients !
