Cisco TORONTO 2015 Countdown Clock wins global recognition

1 min read

Our Cisco TORONTO 2015 Countdown Clock is getting worldwide attention! I am delighted to share that X2O Media (a Barco company) our ecosystem partner, won international recognition at the 2015 Digi Awards in the Best Deployment, Sports Venue category. X2O’s platform was used in conjunction with Cisco’s iServices platform to drive real-time content to the displays on the Countdown Clock.

“The X2O platform was designed to simplify the creation and management of content for any screen or application,” commented David Wilkins, president of X2O Media. “With intuitive drag-and-drop tools, an easy scheduling and partner integration capability, the platform enables enhanced sharing and interaction between people and information. The Cisco TORONTO 2015 Countdown Clock is a perfect application to show off what X2O can enable and we are delighted to be recognized with a Digi award.”

The 18-foot tall, eight-ton Cisco TORONTO 2015 Countdown Clock does way more than just counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to the start of the Games. It is an interactive fan experience, enabled by the Internet of Everything (IoE) that allows visitors to take pictures, download them to their smartphones and even share them via e-mail or across social networks. What’s more? The Clock helps users intuitively navigate through the Toronto 2015 content including updates, event information, videos and maps.

Congratulations to X2O Media for this well-earned recognition and many thanks for their ongoing partnership.

Come on down to Nathan Phillips Square, have your photo taken and experience all the Clock has to offer. And stay-tuned for the announcement of our second Clock, coming soon!
