You’ve probably heard us talk about the office of tomorrow, but what is becoming clear to me is that the office of tomorrow isn’t really an office at all.
Today every hotel room, home office, coffee shop and park bench is the true office of tomorrow.
Technology is making it increasingly easier to connect and collaborate with colleagues, partners and customers from any location, anywhere. You’ve probably also heard us talk about how TOMORROW starts here – well, that has never been more true than today as we announced our latest immersive, interoperable and scalable collaboration solutions at Enterprise Connect in Orlando.
I thought I would take this opportunity to hop on the blog to highlight some of the key announcements for all of those who couldn’t join us in the sunshine state.
TelePresence
We announced three video systems for small rooms, large rooms and everything in between. Cisco TelePresence MX200 is the perfect HD video addition to smaller rooms looking for scalability options, while the Cisco TelePresence MX700 and Cisco TelePresence MX800 serve as additions to the performance line for medium to large sized rooms.
Perhaps the coolest addition to the TelePresence family is the SX10 Quick set. The SX 10 can turn a flat panel display into an HD video collaboration system in less than 10 minutes while costing less than a PC. This makes it a great option for SMBs, especially in a nation of small businesses like Canada.
Intelligent Proximity
In the spirit of connecting people, places and things we announced that we’re integrating Intelligent Proximity technology with several new endpoints. Intelligent Proximity allows Cisco video technology to sense and pair with mobiles devices, adding more screens and participants into the collaborative experience. Intelligent Proximity allows smartphone users to seamlessly video collaborate and share their screen with HD video solutions like TelePresence.
Collaboration In The Clouds
Along with collaboration, cloud is one of the hottest topics in IT today and with the latest enhancements to Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solutions (HCS), we are innovating both. Cisco HCS is making it easier than ever to get cloud-based collaboration over the Internet – now with no VPN required.
Although it will be difficult to leave sunny Orlando for the cold of Canada, bringing back these exciting solutions will definitely soften the blow.
