Cisco Canada and the University of Alberta join forces to drive innovation in health-care research

You must be thinking “Another one!?” Yes, indeed. We’re back at it again.

This week, Cisco Canada and the University of Alberta announced a Cisco Research Chair in Healthcare Solutions, focused on advancing technologies and strategies that support health care. Cisco Canada’s partnership with the University of Alberta is the latest in a series of Research Chairs across the country including announcements with the University of Waterloo, University of British Columbia, University of Regina, University of Laval, University of Saskatchewan and McMaster University

The University of Alberta’s Pierre Boulanger of the Department of Computing Science will serve as the Cisco Research Chair in Healthcare Solutions. Boulanger’s work will focus on the use of technologies that can enhance collaboration, productivity and efficiency in the health-care sector and fostering relationships with the health-care industry and governments. The University of Alberta has developed a global reputation as a leader in health-care research and  Boulanger’s work will solidify the University’s commitment to educational research and the applied technology fields.

I’m proud to be back on the blog talking about Cisco Canada’s latest partnership with another Canadian University to advance Canada’s R&D contributions, and help the University of Alberta become one of the world’s premier institutes of higher learning in health-care research.
