Now that we’ve explained how we can connect Canadians to the Internet of Everything, it’s time for partners to start taking action.
The Internet of Everything represents a potential $14.4 trillion economy over the next decade; $400 billion in Canada alone. In his latest blog post, Cisco CEO John Chambers laid out a call to action, predicting those businesses that act quickly will have the most to gain from this massive opportunity:
“I believe that businesses and industries that quickly harness the benefits of the Internet of Everything will be rewarded with a larger share of that increased profitability. This will happen at the expense of those that wait or don’t adapt effectively. That’s why the value is “at stake” – it’s truly up for grabs.”
Clearly, Cisco partners have a lot to gain by exploring the prospects of the Internet of Everything. Every day our partners are making new connections between people, processes, data and things and as they continue that push what is possible and become more comfortable with new platforms and devices to incorporate into their solutions, they will make amazing things happen.
There are an almost infinite number of objects that could be connected to the Internet of Everything and some of our partners involved in Cisco initiatives such as Smart + Connected Communities are already tapping into that potential.
For instance, George Brown College has combined Cisco Connected Real Estate and Cisco Connected Workspaces solutions such as real-time building automation supported by motion sensors, real-time audio and video capabilities, building-wide Wi-Fi, Cisco IP telephony and digital signage. By driving pervasive connectivity, buildings such as these are forming the groundwork for the Internet of Everything. These innovations, made possible by our partners, are tapping into the value of the Internet of Everything economy. Partners can learn more about the opportunities in the Internet of Everything and access exclusive resources on our website.
Even the media is making a big deal about the channel potential of the Internet of Everything. At our recent Cisco Technology Editors Conference the press were talking positively about the significance of the opportunity for Cisco’s channel partners.
Another way Cisco partners can get in on the ground floor of the Internet of Everything is to join us at Cisco Connect Toronto. At Cisco Connect partners will get a first-hand look at the technologies that will define the connectivity of the Internet of Everything. With sessions on data centre security, BYOD and the enterprise, IPv6 hands-on labs, and Wi-Fi to mobile deployments, partners can learn more about how to leverage the Internet of Everything economy. Plus partners will get a chance to hear from speakers like Cisco Canada president Nitin Kawale, Cisco senior vice president Carlos Dominguez, and Cisco senior vice president of Communication and Collaboration IT, Sheila Jordan.
