By Tracy Cheng, Human Resources Manager, Cisco Canada
I am absolutely thrilled that Cisco Canada is once again ranked first in Aon Hewitt’s 2013 Best Employers in Canada study. This isn’t the first time our company has been recognized by employees – since 2011 they’ve named us second-Best Employer in Quebec, one of Canada’s ‘Green 30’ employers and now the 2013 and 2011 Best Employer in Canada.
Why? Cisco Canada encompasses a culture of giving back, empowerment and working together to achieve success.
For example, employees are encouraged to give back by volunteering and donating to charitable causes. In return, we match these contributions to support their activities. We also encourage employees to further their education by leveraging programs that Cisco Canada has to offer. This enhances their job performance and career growth potential.
But make no mistake, we received this tremendous honour not because of these programs, but entirely because of the passion, commitment and engagement of our people. And that brings me to what I want to tell you, the reader wondering what this talk about awards really means.
We’re hiring.
In fact, we’re always hiring. The Cisco Career Connection website includes posts for all open positions in Canada, and it’s continuously updated. If you’re interested in joining one of Canada’s best employers I encourage you to bookmark the site and check it regularly.
Congratulations to all the exceptional companies named to the 2013 Best Employers in Canada list. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment from employees and senior management to be a part of this group, and I hope you are as proud of your achievement as I am of ours.
