Cisco University Challenge 2015
We’re back! On the 29th October 2015, Cisco will host its 2nd annual University Challenge. Held at our EMEAR headquarters in Bedfont Lakes, we are targeting 100 of the best students from across the United Kingdom and Ireland to represent their universities in a 24 hour innovation challenge.
The premise of this event is to expose the student community to Cisco and to inspire the next generation of young professionals. When you combine smart people and cool technology, wonderful things happen! Through giving the best students a platform to display their skills, our mission is to strengthen Cisco’s presence within higher education, and demonstrate some of the leading edge technological innovations that Cisco is driving.
With support from thought leaders within Cisco and our partners, each university team will be issued with a choice of challenges derived from real world business outcomes that are focused on the next generation of the Internet – the Internet of Everything (IoE).
The challenges themselves are created to target the end goal of a working prototype that meets the requirements of the brief. Teams will also be required to demonstrate a feasible go to market strategy and project roadmap to explain the business value of the solution they have chosen to work on.
Many creative innovations are put forward, but there can only be one winner to be crowned 2015 Cisco University Challenge champions!
It’s not just about the competition, however. The University Challenge will also feature keynote speeches from Cisco’s VP of Growth Initiatives and Chief of Staff Ruba Borno, and our Director of Cybersecurity in the UK, Terry Greer-King. In addition, you will have the chance to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the UK technology sector – from Cisco and our enterprise partners Barclays and Digital Catapult.

We have air hockey, retro gaming stations, campus tours, prizes, giveaways, free breakfast, lunch, dinner and your travel costs will be reimbursed!
