We had an incredible day at Cisco Connect 2025 UK & Ireland in May. One of the many highlights for me were our annual Cisco Customer Awards. It’s such a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on some of the outstanding work of our customers in driving innovation, transforming their industries and shaping the future of technology.
This year’s awards brought together an impressive group of senior IT leaders from a wide range of organisations across the UK and Ireland. The forward-thinking approaches and impact that these businesses are driving with the power of technology was inspiring.
We had many customer nominations this year and choosing our winners wasn’t easy. A thank you to our panel of expert judges from across Cisco for tackling the hard task of narrowing down the shortlist and selecting our winners who were announced on the day.

This award honours organisations reimagining how and where we work – creating innovative hybrid work environments, prioritising employee well-being, and setting the standard for a future-proofed workplace.

Our panel was very impressed by Tripadvisor’s dedication to creating an environment that drives innovation and new ideas. Their workplace has been designed to enhance the experience of its staff members encouraging collaboration and fresh ideas through activity-based work. Congratulations to a very-deserved winner!
Cyber Security Defender Award
In today’s world, security and resilience is more crucial than ever. This award recognises those who are leading the charge in safeguarding digital infrastructure with advanced and resilient cybersecurity, observability, or assurance solutions.
Congratulations to the University of Liverpool! They truly stood-out for their modernised network infrastructure with a robust security posture. By integrating Cisco’s entire security portfolio; zero trust, cloud security, full stack observability, Splunk, along with DNA switching, Cisco Spaces, and Nexus ACI they have demonstrate an incredible achievement is in how to build digital resilience.
Network Excellence Award
This award highlights organisations that are elevating connectivity and performance through advanced networking solutions, redefining the role of networks in driving success.
A huge well done to Barts Health NHS Trust!
Their profound development of their network infrastructure has been nothing short of astonishing. Reliability and stability have been significantly elevated, enabling their IT team to focus on optimisations rather than disruptions. Their wireless integration, use of Catalyst Centre, Thousand Eyes and Secure Network Analytics, has enhanced day-to-day operations producing a seamless experience for all their stakeholders.
Digitising Public Services Award
This award celebrates organisations that are driving public services through digital innovation, enhancing efficiency, accessibility, and citizen engagement.
Congratulations to Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Trust! They impressed our panel with their exemplary roll out of Wi-Fi 7 and Cisco Spaces, all underpinned with a powerful digital strategy for today and the future. Demonstrating outstanding innovation in public services, they have brought together Cisco cross-architectural capabilities, integrating Networking, Collab, Security, and Observability to set new standards in technology transformation in healthcare.
