There’s never a dull moment in the world of mobility! Case in point; You may be excited at the arrival of Apple pay in the UK next month, but if you were expecting hefty shopping trips using your iPhone then you may be disappointed. Many retailers will have a cap of £20 as the contactless terminals have been set to that limit for years, but who knows? As mobile payments become more popular, we could see retailers adopt a higher transaction limit.
In other news:
- Have you ever wished you could undo an email sent in haste? Then you’ll love this. Gmail has released its “undo send” feature to the masses. More importantly, Google has enabled this feature on the mobile app. At your desk or on the go, you’ll have up to 30 seconds to proof read, calm down and rephrase before your email is delivered.
- The UK now has the best average mobile data speeds in the world. And by far more than a nose. With our average connection now at a blistering 20.4Mbps, we’re typically twice as fast as our nearest rivals, the Danes.
- From offices to hospitals, Blackberry CEO John Chen has said the smartphone manufacturer is entering the healthcare industry, with specially designed handsets for use in hospitals. The handset will be bacteria free in order to help doctors and nurses carry patient data without transmitting bugs.
