What Happens in Vegas: GSX FY27 Stories #1 – Part of Something Big

2 min read

GSX (Global Sales Experience) is Cisco’s flagship global sales conference. It brings together sales, partner, and Customer Experience teams from around the world. This year, GSX FY27 took place in Las Vegas from August 24–27, kicking off the new fiscal year with energy and intention.

Under the theme “One Team. One Vision. One Cisco”, our teams celebrated the wins and lessons of FY26. We also set a shared ambition for the year ahead: accelerating growth, strengthening partnerships, and putting customer value at the center of Cisco’s strategy.

It’s in that spirit of One Cisco that the Cisco Portugal Blog team created this series, “What Happens in Vegas: GSX FY27 Stories” — bringing you the highlights of GSX FY27 through the voices of our own Cisconians.

Each post features one colleague’s experience from the event, told in their own words.

“Feeling Part of Something Big”: Lourenço’s First GSX

Meet the newest voice at GSX — Lourenço Pinto da Silva, Customer Success Specialist, who experienced his first arena-sized keynote this year.

How did you end up at GSX this year?

“Not every Customer Success Specialist was selected to attend GSX this year. My manager put my name forward, as she felt it would be a great development opportunity for me at this stage of my career.”

What was the highlight of GSX for you?

“The opening global keynote is, without a doubt, the highlight for anyone attending GSX for the first time. We all know Cisco is a big company, but you don’t really feel it until you’re sitting in an arena with 20,000 people. That’s when it hits you.”

Was there a speaker or story that stuck with you?

“Oliver Tuszik, definitely — his charisma really stood out.”

What’s the biggest thing you learned or realized at GSX?

“That we’re part of something big. You don’t just know it intellectually — at GSX, you actually feel it.”

What will you do differently in FY27 because of GSX?

“GSX is a great way to kick off the fiscal year with motivation. For me specifically, I want to bring back the story of our unified platform advantage and convey it clearly to our customers.”

What message would you give colleagues in Lisbon who couldn’t attend?

“There are other ways to be part of GSX even if you’re not in sales — working a booth at the Hub, for example, is a great way to experience it too.”

Any fun or unexpected moment?

“Steve Carell is just as fun in person as you’d expect!”
