How Cisco Became an Emotion in My Life: A Journey of Success
In this blog post, I am thrilled to share my incredible journey of success, the importance of family, and the unwavering focus on customer satisfaction through my association with Cisco. My name is Nagaraj Kulkarni, and I come from Bangalore, Karnataka, often known as the Garden City and the IT capital of India. With Cisco’s main branch office located in Bangalore, it played a significant role in shaping my career aspirations and becoming an integral part of my life.
Early Career Beginnings
My professional journey commenced soon after I graduated from college in India. At the young age of 21, I was fortunate to be campus hired by Wipro Technologies in 2014, immersing myself in the vast and dynamic IT atmosphere. Those early years provided me with a strong foundation and fuelled my passion for technology and innovation.
After accumulating 4.5 years of valuable experience, I decided to broaden my horizons by pursuing a master’s degree abroad. In October 2018, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by setting foot in Poland. While studying, I had the golden opportunity to work as a Working Student at Nokia for approximately one year. This experience further enhanced my skills and deepened my understanding of the industry.
The Cisco Dream
Upon completing my master’s degree in business information systems, I eagerly began applying for jobs. Among the offers I received, one stood out prominently – an offer from Cisco. There was no hesitation in my mind when it came to joining Cisco. Having previously worked with Cisco as a client during my time at Wipro, I was already acquainted with Cisco’s work culture, ethics, and friendly environment. It had always been a dream of mine to be part of the Cisco family and become a CISCONIAN.
Encouragement and Family Culture
One of the greatest aspects of joining Cisco is the unwavering encouragement to be true to oneself and follow your heart, fostered by the leadership team. Cisco recognizes the importance of family and acknowledges them as an integral part of our lives. This inclusive culture creates a profound sense of belonging and support that extends beyond the workplace. It is this aspect of Cisco’s culture and dedication to work-life balance that has allowed me to seamlessly blend my personal successes alongside my professional accomplishments.
New Home: Krakow, Poland
My journey led me from Bangalore to Krakow, Poland, where I not only started a new life but also engaged in fascinating work that honed my skills in building elegant, customer-focused tools. It was an exhilarating time in both my professional and personal life. During this journey, I had the unexpected fortune of meeting my wife, Sreelekha, who hails from the same city as me, Bangalore, India. This serendipitous connection is something I am incredibly grateful for.
My Role and Focus
As a Portfolio Activation Specialist for Cisco’s Customer Experience team, I am privileged to contribute to the success of our customers. I work with cross-functional teams, account teams, stakeholders, and partners to provide them with the necessary capabilities to achieve their goals. It is truly exhilarating to build these capabilities from the ground up, all aimed at helping our customers transform their visions into reality using Cisco’s services and products. Our unwavering focus is always on the customer because we firmly believe that their success is our success as well.
Cisco’s Customer Experience (PAS) Team
Every step in my personal and professional journey has led me to the present, where my success is intertwined with Cisco’s dedication to customer satisfaction. I take immense pride in being part of Cisco’s intense focus on our customers’ needs through our Customer Experience (CX) organization, particularly in our endeavour to build a best-in-class Customer Success function within Cisco. The momentum and energy I witness every day are infectious and unlike anything I have experienced before.
In conclusion, Cisco has become more than just a company to me. It has become an emotion in my life—a symbol of success, a testament to the importance of family, and a relentless commitment to customer focus. Through Cisco, I have grown both professionally and personally, finding fulfillment in building capabilities for our customers and being part of a culture that celebrates individuality and work-life balance. I am grateful for the opportunities Cisco has provided me and look forward to continued growth and success with the Cisco family.
