3 April 2024

In our “From Student to” series, we explore the journeys of Cisco Poland team members from their student days to their current roles. Each post shares their transition from learners to professionals, providing valuable insights for aspiring talents eager to navigate the tech industry.

Embark on a journey with Kuba Sroga, who has transformed from a tech-savvy high school student to a Meraki Network Support Engineer at Cisco.

His passion got ignited at technical high school, where Kuba encountered a teacher brimming with passion for networking and Cisco. Fueled by his teacher’s excitement, Kuba leaped at the chance and aimed for the CCNA certification at AGH without hesitation.

Post-graduation, Kuba delved into external studies and the professional landscape. In no time, he caught the attention of a recruiter. Following six interviews, he proudly became a part of the Cisco Meraki team!

Fast forward 1.5 years at Cisco, and Kuba is mingling with top-tier customers, gracing the stage as a presenter at Cisco Live, and carving out his niche as a global specialist in Open Roaming + Meraki. The sky was never the limit—Kuba made it his launchpad.

“The key to achieving everything lies in an immense passion for technology and networking. Take a deep dive into what you love, discover your niche, and be patient as you move steadfastly towards your goals. Aim high; set the bar at its zenith.

Your journey is an ongoing lesson, unraveling unforeseen skills and abilities”, Kuba shares his mindset.

Kuba’s newfound superpower was the activation of soft skills, the art of connecting with people. Working with customers often demands a diplomatic finesse, requiring advocacy and adept communication.

“Listening becomes paramount—not just to comprehend problems better but also to empathize and step into the customer’s shoes. Every story has its moral, and here is mine: stay curious, seek solutions even in the minutest details, treat challenges as learning opportunities rather than mere tasks to be completed. Ensure constant learning and growth in your chosen field, not just to assist the customer at hand but also to elevate and support your colleagues”, concludes Kuba.
