How Cisco Powers Innovation – the DevNet Program

September 16, 2014

There has never been a better time to innovate with Cisco. And when I say innovate, I don’t mean setting out with an expectation that the only way to innovate means having a finely crafted solution at the end that meets everyone’s demands. Innovation can be – and I would argue, should be – an iterative process that adapts and takes shape over time. Cisco and its DevNet Program allows innovators to take our market leading technology and develop practical solutions to the problems that businesses face today, but at a pace that suits the innovator

DevNet provides free access to software, API’s, SDK’s and associated documentation that allow you to create innovative products that are powered by an underlying technology platform that customers and partners have come to trust. And it doesn’t just end there! We also provide access to technology sandboxes where you can build and test your solution, accelerating the pace of your development without having to invest in expensive labs. Sandboxes are an increasingly important part of our developer support and we are bringing more and more capabilities to this aspect of innovation over the coming year!

And once you have built your prototype, and perhaps even closed your first commercial deal, Cisco can then help with your Go To Market (GTM) through its Solution Partner Program. This provides the tools and resources to hone the value proposition of your solution, and then expose it to the wider innovation and customer community through Cisco’s Marketplace.

Many of our innovators at IDEA London have exploited DevNet and the Solution Partner Program, and have gained increasing traction with partners and customers by using Cisco’s help to drive their innovation into the hands of their customers. Just take a look at Sparkl and Wittos and the solutions that they have developed using Cisco’s innovation engine.
