GDPR: Live discussion on what you need to know

October 11, 2017

In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger (“Do it noooooowwww!”), GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulation) compliance is something that all businesses in the UK and Ireland must be now working their way towards.

Yes, it’s a complicated law, and ambiguously worded. It requires your careful focus and attention.  However, we’re here to help break it down, and offer you some practical steps on the best approach.

We held a live broadcast from outside of the Houses of Parliament which covers everything from the essentials of what you need to know, how to educate your own people about the importance of being compliant, and how to build a strong incident response programme to deal with data breaches.

Something that we discussed which I think is really worth emphasising – there’s little point in heading down the GDPR path just for the sake of being compliant. Embrace it wholeheartedly, and you will find that your business will be in much better shape as a result – i.e your processes work, your people are more security educated, and you can deal with potential data breaches in a far more effective manner.

Done right, cybersecurity won’t weigh any business down. In actual fact, it can become a business enabler and really speed up your growth.
