Coming Together as Leaders

April 8, 2022

Cisco Lisbon Leader Community is an inclusive, diverse, and enduring community that our leaders, based in Portugal aspire to be part of. The approach is to lead this community to be an empowered and relevant engine for Cisco, leveraging the site experience, the connections between peers and the leadership development.

As a leader it’s visible daily that we continue to lead our teams in an ever more difficult and rapidly changing environment; economic, geo-political, global health issues, to name just a few of the challenges our teams, business, homes and families face.

So how do we serve our teams in this complex world? We come together as leaders!

Our goal is to mobilize, engage and work together to improve employee experience and leadership development. We achieve this by organizing internal initiatives such as workshops and sessions around leadership topics – future of hybrid work, innovation, talent mobility, employee coaching, etc.

Last Thursday we had an amazing hybrid session exploring and discussing how we live up to our conscious culture of accountability and empowerment, connecting and creating great experiences with our leaders by fostering strong connections across our growing organizations and managers, and how we drive value with people leaders and our teams by setting the stage for conversations around hiring, onboarding, talent development and best practice sharing.

Thank you to the team that created the session: Maria Kol, Angela De Almeida Morais, Bruno Teixeira, Susana Jesus (and yours truly) plus our site leaders Anna Barker (Cisco CXC Lisbon Senior Director) and Gisela Franco (EMEAR Client Experience Services Senior Director) for attending and sharing their insights.

Being able to bring my whole self to work each day, to engage across teams, influence, impact, and above all to have our teams flourish through strong engagement and leadership is what successful leadership, community, and collaboration look like.
