First India Education Study Tour & Digital Education Summit 2019

Team Cisco India Education, with support from Cisco APJC, is all set for the very first Education Study Tour to 3 Universities spread across 2 cities in the beautiful continent of Australia. Here’s all you want to know about it:

Theme: “Universities in the Digital Economy” – Changing learning and campus models to respond to the needs of industry and learners

Where?: Adelaide & Melbourne, Australia

When?: March 3 – 8, 2019

Who Will Attend?:  Senior executives from Indian Education Sector

Why?: Digital is both the cause of and response to a number of major shifts that are happening in higher education. On one hand digital is changing the face of the job market, raising student expectations, intensifying competition for Institutes and making it more difficult for industry to effectively forecast. At the same time it is enabling personalisation at scale and creating significant opportunities to more effectively engage students and improve outcomes.

Cisco recognizes that the pace of change in higher education makes sharing and collaboration between universities essential. Cisco India, with support from Cisco APJC, is organizing a bespoke international study tour to enable Indian universities to interact with and learn from some of the most innovative and experimental universities and economies in Australia. The study tour will provide executives from educational institutions in India with the perfect launch pad for their involvement in the Digital Education Summit at Cisco Live Melbourne too.

Format: The study tour will include a mix
of facilitated panel discussions and subject matter expert presentations. Major findings / conclusions from the study tour will be distilled into a brief report written by Brad Davies from Vector Consulting. The study tour will be built around three themes:

1. Future of work in a digital economy

  • The future of Education and other industries
  • Talent pipeline management: how Cisco’s own skill requirements are changing
  • Smart Cities including Cisco’s Country Digitization Acceleration program

2. Innovation in the higher education sector

  • Student experience
  • New business models
  • Campus activation using smart building technology and digital services
  • Applied research and economic and social impact

3. Digital learning / Smart Classroom

  • New learning models and approaches
  • Learning spaces / Smart Classroom including learning analytics

Itinerary:

Sunday 3rd March (Adelaide): Arrivals & Networking/Introduction Dinner at Adelaide Hilton restaurant

Monday 4th March (Adelaide): Site visit to Flinders University including the Tonsley Precinct which is recognized as Australia’s most progressive and large-scale innovation precincts

Tuesday 5th March (Melbourne): Site visit to Deakin University’s Burwood campus in Melbourne. Deakin is a leader in innovation and digitization and one of the most technologically progressive institutions globally.

Wednesday 6th March (Melbourne): Day 1 of the Digital Education Summit @ Cisco Live Melbourne. The program has been designed to provide global perspectives on education with a combination of presentations, panel discussions and interactive sessions.

Thursday 7th March (Melbourne): Day 2 of the Digital Education Summit. As well as compelling presentations day two also provides a site visit to the University of Melbourne – Australia’s number one ranked university

Friday 8th March (Melbourne): Departures to India

Cisco India has received overwhelming response for attending this Study Tour and we look forward to hosting all the Educationists in Australia in 10 days time. Depending on the feedback & success of this 1st Edition, Cisco India intends to make it an annual affair, covering digitally progressive universities across the globe.
