Cisco’s Allyson Corcoran wins the ARN Women in ICT Award for Achievement
The Women in ICT Awards (WIICTA) are run by ARN to recognize female excellence in the ICT channel and reward professional achievements and outstanding results each year.
Allyson Corcoran, Director, Operations of Cisco Technical Services was chosen as the winner for the Achievement category for her strong business and financial acumen. Allyson has worked in the ICT industry for more than 22 years, fourteen of which have been spent at Cisco.
Three other Cisco employees – Vanessa Sulikowski, Shae Howard and Vicki Morris – were nominated with Vanessa and Shae making it to the shortlist for the final round alongside Allyson, under various categories.
A certified accountant, Allyson has been able to simplify finance for her technically focused colleagues. To achieve this, Allyson designed an interactive course aimed at Senior Managers and Directors within Cisco Technical Services. The sessions that Allyson developed for the organisation covered topics such as financial statements, deal structuring and new business models. Based on the success of this program, the leadership in the region developed an ongoing learning and development module, which has now been rolled out across all business units within the region.
Since joining Cisco in 2000, Allyson has held several senior positions within the organisation and her current role is Director, Operations of Cisco Technical Services for the Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China region. In addition to her APJC Operations job, since 2012 Allyson has had a dual role as the Theatre Director for Cisco ANZ Technical Services.
Allyson is very passionate and active in the areas of inclusion and diversity in the workplace and developing talent for the future. She is an Executive Sponsor of a number of programs focussed on talent development and employee engagement both in ANZ and across the broader region.
The 2014 awards were presented at a gala luncheon at the Ivy ballroom in Sydney with more than 285 channel leaders in attendance.
The entire Cisco Australia team is thrilled for Allyson and her achievement.
