Announcing the Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome
I’m tremendously excited to announce the new Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome has officially opened! Introduced to the public on January 9 during the Milton International Track Challenge, the state-of-the-art facility will not only see tremendous competition as part of the upcoming TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. Its launch means Canadian athletes can now train right here at home, building their cycling dreams without having to live abroad. As the first facility of its kind in Canada and one of only two in North America that meets top international standards, the Velodrome truly puts Canada on the international cycling map.
As a Premier Partner of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games and the Official Information and Communications Technology Provider, Cisco Canada is helping to enable the technology that will run the games. The Velodrome is all about innovation, bringing together the latest in track design, training and performance-enhancing features, and so serves as a great symbol of Cisco’s partnership with the Games.

Just like cycling, technology and innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Cisco. We talk about the Internet of Everything and connecting people, processes, data and things. Being part of the largest sporting event to ever be held in Canada is a fantastic reminder of how networks have become critical parts of our everyday lives, linking us to the places we work, play and learn.
As the start of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games gets closer, our teams of engineers are drawing on their experience with other global technology deployments, such as the London 2012 Olympic Games, to deliver excellent technology and help make these the best Pan Am Games ever.
Cisco is not only building a robust and secure operations network and data operations centre for the Games, our technology is also lighting up other official venues throughout the Golden Horseshoe and helping fans discover new ways to share their experiences. We have lots of amazing stories to share with you, so watch this space as we get closer to July 10, 2015.
And to add to the excitement we built the Cisco TO2015 countdown clock at Nathan Philips Square and it’s ticking down the days left until we get the games started. I can’t wait!
