Collaborating just became easier with new products and infrastructure updates

May 20, 2014

This week at Cisco Live! 2014, we announced new products and infrastructure updates that gives a fresh take on video, desktop collaboration and virtual meeting rooms. These new products and updates make the collaboration experience easier for users by allowing choice and flexibility while also remaining consistent and simple.

With workforces becoming more geographically dispersed, employees rely on mobile devices and video to stay connected. Our announcement at CiscoLive! builds on the introduction of simple, easy-to-use endpoints we made earlier this year at Enterprise Connect.

These new products are designed to simplify and enhance the meeting process, whether users are at their desks or in a dedicated room. In other words, we’re bringing video from the boardroom, to every room.

Here’s what stands out for me in this week’s announcement:

Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR): Meet Your Way

-Capable of hosting up to 1,000 people on WebEx and up to 25 video endpoints in the same session

-Meet their way: scheduled meetings to reserve resources, instant meetings to pull colleagues into a meeting room on demand, personal meeting room with a permanent always-on meeting room

-Connect their way: provides options to enable any type of conferencing across a wide array of devices

-Consume their way: CMR Cloud (WebEx Cloud), CMR Premise (datacenter), CMR-Hybrid (both)

These are designed to allow people to connect easily from anywhere using a wide array of devices. They will not only make communicating easier but will also increase the productivity of your workspace, something very important as we prepare for the workspace of tomorrow.
