Made in Canada: How we are making the Cisco Business Edition 6000 easier for partners

March 3, 2014

By all accounts, the Cisco Business Edition 6000 is an incredible product.  Able to handle 1,000 users, 100 contact centre agents and up to 50 remote branch offices, the Cisco Business Edition 6000 simplifies our unified communications and collaboration portfolio for mid-sized companies – literally putting it in one box.

The Cisco Business Edition 6000 is a single server and fully virtualized environment – embedded services include Cisco’s world renowned Unified Communications Manager, Unity Integrated Voice Messaging, Instant Messaging and Presence and Cisco’s Integrated Video Communications Solution. The Cisco Business Edition 6000 also supports various 3rd party applications that can be running co-resident on the same Cisco Business Edition 6000 server, saving customers the headaches of buying additional servers and maintenance to host them.

To create a seamless experience for customers, the Cisco Business Edition 6000 can be specifically configured to your business’ environment.  As you can imagine, with a solution that offers this many options, there are a lot of choices to make.

To our partners, we heard you. The Cisco Business Edition 6000 is loved by your customers!  And now it’s easier than ever to install. So today, in concert with our Distribution partners, we are proud to announce a made in Canada service designed to help our partners deploy the Cisco Business Edition 6000 to specific customer configurations in less time, while increasing your margins: Introducing The Configuration To Order Cisco Business Edition 6000.

The Configuration To Order (CTO) service was designed to leverage the enhanced capabilities of our distribution partners to alleviate the most time consuming components of the Cisco Business Edition 6000 installation.

Here’s how this innovative made-in-Canada program works: Using Cisco’s new CTO Portal, partners complete a simple online form with information about the customer installation.  Their designated Canadian distributor then unpacks, validates server hardware operation, updates the Cisco Business Edition 6000 software to the absolute newest versions and configures the Cisco Business Edition 6000 exactly as outlined. When complete, the Cisco Business Edition 6000 is repacked and shipped to the partner or customer site.  Once the Cisco Business Edition 6000 is onsite, our partner can immediately begin the customer focused configuration process.

We have already seen the results! The CTO service removes days from the installation timeline. This makes our partners more competitive, increases their margins and gives them, and their customers, valuable time back.

This service is one of the most innovative processes that I have seen come out of Canada, and one that I think will be incredibly successful.  The Cisco Business Edition 6000 is a product made for Canadian mid-sized companies, and the Configuration To Order Service is a made in Canada innovation, made for Canadian partner success.

Partners, watch this video for more information on our CTO service and how you can streamline your installations using the CTO Cisco Business Edition 6000.
